What if… What if the guys took up knitwear modeling in the early 1980s?

Hutch probably has many nicknames for that sweater Starsky is wearing here: the knitted tomato, the mohair massacre…

the mohair massacre , what fitting name !!!
Yeah, well – whatever Hutch says about it, he won’t deny that this sweater gives a luxury touch to their hugs and cuddles. 🙂
LOL, the knitted tomato, love that!
These are very cool pics, Mortmere! I’m so glad you were able to finish them.
Thanks, I’m glad you like them! I had no problem finishing these manips (actually, I made them last Xmas). The art piece that I was crying over back in November is yet to come. 😉
Oh yay!
Love these, Mortmere! They both look great, but I have a skosh more love for Hutch’s!
Thank you for this beautiful gift.
Thanks! I had so much fun googling images from old knitwear magazines and picking ones that suit our guys.
OMG! These are perfect! LOL! I love that sweater on Starsky! He looks pettable. Hutch looks so suave. Thank you!
Thank you! 😀 Hutch agrees that Starsky is very pettable in that sweater.
I see; after they resigned they started a new career, together or course, as top knitwear models. Instant success!
I hope they can add a white stripe to the knitted tomato for next season.
I want the catalog so bad!
Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks! Hehe, that’s the back story I had for these pics. Specifically, after Starsky was invalided out of the force post-SR, they had to come up with something else to do together… Talk about surprise moves! 😀 And since Sirdar is a British brand, maybe they moved to the UK?
Don’t you just wanna get your hands on that fuzzy mohair… uh, sweater? And that suave one Hutch is wearing? It’s perfect for that perfect body and face. These are wonderful, Mortmere! Thank you so much for these lovely gifts!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the lovely comment, Pat! That fluffy ball of mohair really is something else!
Well – those warmed me up!
Goody! 🙂
Ooh, I love Hutch’s sweater–makes him look smooth and sleek. Starsky’s is a little more, uh, hairy. But if it’s mohair, it should be very cuddly. Hutch would love that! Thanks for sharing, Mortmere.
Well, Starsky is a little more hairy – but he’s cuddly, too. I just hope all the mohair fluff won’t aggravate Hutch’s allergies! 😉
Thank you for your comment! <3
Excellent choices for each of our boys, Mortmere. Great job in making their heads fit and the perfect choice of expression, too – that’s tough and you nailed it.
Thank you, Maria! I always aim to get those things right, and I’m pleased to hear you think I succeeded!
Thank you for leaving both of those tempting necks bared.
As for how they became models; maybe they really did join the Canadian Football League and met a fellow ex-pat now teammate named Rosey Grier?

You’re welcome! And thanks for that Rosey Grier article! I had never heard of him before. Reading it left me with a couple of thoughts/ideas I’d love to see in fic:
1) Do Starsky and/or Hutch knit/crochet/do needlepoint?
2) I suddenly want a re-write fic of “I Love You, Rosey Malone” in which Rosey is a guy.
Fluffy tomato!
😀
Thank goodness the fluff is red and not greenish, otherwise it might be a rotten tomato!
Oh, I think Hutch would love to pet Starsky in that soft, warm sweater. Wonderful pictures.
