Post Sweet Revenge<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Starsky watched every single move Hutch made as he packed his duffle bag with the last of his clothes. Watched with trepidation\u2026 hopelessness\u2026 fear. He came close to upchucking the acid lake in his stomach when he saw and heard the zipper close.<\/p>\n

“There! All packed except for the usual change of clothes,” Hutch said a lot more cheerfully than Starsky cared for.<\/p>\n

How can he be so fucking upbeat?<\/em><\/p>\n

Hutch answered the unasked question with, “I’m so proud of you, buddy. You regained your independence faster than anyone thought you would.”<\/p>\n

“Yeah, I guess.”<\/p>\n

He knew he was busted when that crease between those unforgettable blue eyes deepened. He almost flinched when Hutch placed those elegant hands of his on his shoulders.<\/p>\n

Too little and too much. You’re killin’ me, Hutch.<\/em><\/p>\n

“What’s wrong, babe?” Hutch asked with concern so gentle, so loving, that Starsky had to fight back tears. “You havin’ doubts?”<\/p>\n

“Nuh\u2026 no, not really.”<\/p>\n

“Then what?”<\/p>\n

Starsky sighed, which settled his roiling emotions a little. “I guess I’m just gonna miss you, Blintz. I’ve really liked you staying with me.”<\/p>\n

Hutch smiled with affection. “I’ve liked it, too. But we knew I’d be moving back to my place. We’ll still see each other every day.”<\/p>\n

Starsky squeezed his eyes shut in hopes his courage wouldn’t leak out with the tears still threatening to form. Once steeled, he opened them, pulling Hutch against him.<\/p>\n

Hutch looked at him in anticipation. “What is it, Starsk?”<\/p>\n

Before he could answer, before he could chicken out, Starsky planted his slightly quivering lips on Hutch’s. In seconds, it transformed from a tentative touch to a genuine kiss that held promise and barely restrained passion. His knees jellied and his emotions changed to their polar opposites when Hutch hugged him almost possessively, definitely lovingly.<\/p>\n

Parting from Hutch’s lips just enough to speak, Starsky said, “Stay,” in a whisper both command and request.<\/p>\n

Though he was too close to see Hutch smile, he heard it in his words. “Thought you’d never ask. Why do you think I was taking so long to pack?” He chuckled then lightly kissed Starsky. “Of course I’ll stay. Forever if that’s okay with you.”<\/p>\n

“Wouldn’t have it any other way, ya big lummox.”<\/p>\n
