In the 1972 Olympics, Palestinian gunmen kidnapped and murdered eleven members of the Israeli team. The placement of these items in Starsky’s apartment cannot be accidental.

I remember someone once grabbing a screen cap of a mezuzah beside Starsky’s door, but I forget which episode that was from.

For me it’s definitely Starsky’s POV and just his – that’s the way I see it.
When I bought the DVD collection, of course I watched the whole series several times
in a row and my favorite episodes even more. One time I noticed the Menorah
but I didn’t know the story of the poster. Of course I know what happened in Munich
back then. Here in Germany it was all over the news. It was so shocking. I remember that even being a nine year old child. After that horrible incident and failing of the German police, the German government decided to form a special police force who would fight terrorism. It was the birth of the GSG9. We all wish this police force would’ve been formed before the 1972 Olympic games in Munich.
This was a fun idea. Nicely done! Great screen cap too! I love looking at the stuff in their apartments. It’s very interesting to know more about the poster. Thank you for sharing.

In the rush of the holiday season I did not see your Happy Hanukkah story oin December but I found it on 01-03-16 when I was checking through the stories to make sure I did not miss anything. I enjoyed your poem but I especially enjoyed the information you shared about that poster near Starsky’s menorah! I was not aware of who the artist was but I remember that terrorist act with horror to this day because I heard about it on television at such a young age. I totally agree with you that the placement of those items in Starsky’s apartment was NOT accidental. It was symbolic and reverent. Without you enlightening us in your postscript to the poem a very significant thing would have been missed. I remember reading back in the 70’s that the producers gave Paul and David input on how to decorate the sets of their apartment sets–which began with the Venice Place apt. for Hutch and the house with the tree in the deck for Starsky. I would bet money those items belonged to Paul and he put them there.
