I loved that– I LOVE BeeGees and you’ve used the song really well together with the scenes to convey a deeper meaning- Don’t know whether you meant it, but… for me, when I hear “I found the world is round”– it’s like they found each other and the true meaning of life and their friendship– and they found themselves and where their hearts belong. That’s the feeling I get from the scenes you’ve chosen.

That’s exactly what I was trying to show, and I’m glad I managed. In my mind, Hutch is wondering about his place in the world, if he really means something to someone (which I think is something Hutch would totally do, especially in season 4), but then the knowledge of the love between him and Starsky, of how much he’s both needed and loved, would give him an epiphany. So yeah, it was meant. 😉 Thank you a lot for your warm words!

As an aside that I hope you’ll enjoy thinking about: I didn’t spend as much time on the set and locations fourth season, only because I hated most of the scripts and didn’t want to watch David and Paul have to film ‘hurtful’ scenes. They meant too much to me for that. But I’m pretty sure David was feeling all those things you say: ‘wondering about his place in the world, if he really means something to someone’. Then Paul showcased him so brilliantly in SR and he had his answer.

I can understand your issues with the fourth season. I was against rewatching it, and yes, it has some pretty hurtful moments, but actually there’s a lot of love too, if more hidden. A lot more hidden.
Anyway, I really like your point of view. There was real sadness behind what happened on screen (which I think is in part reason to some of the coldness), but even then, love ended up coming through, fortunately. 🙂
