December 9th- Play Gingerbread House with Me by Lisa C.

Christmas shopping at the mall together the first time as lovers was no different than as friends, Hutch discovered. He waited while Starsky paid and finished flirting with the cashier.

Rejoining him, Starsky couldn’t miss the solemn look.

“You can’t be a grinch already, Hutch. We’ve only been to two stores!”

“Never mind. It’s nothing.”

Starsky looked back at sporting goods store counter they just left. Nothing but pretty salesgirls in tight referee shirts. He looked at his partner, suddenly understanding. He pulled them over to a gingerbread house display.

“Hutch, I’m gonna flirt with pretty ladies. I’m gonna flirt with little old ladies. I’m even gonna flirt with ladies God was less than kind to. It’s what I do.”

Hutch nodded and looked intently at a ginger man making a ginger snowman.

“But,” Starsky said, pulling them down on the nearby bench, “you’re the one I’ll always come home to, the one I’ll always kiss goodnight and the one I’ll always kiss good morning.”

Hutch beamed into his lover’s face. “Just then?” he asked.

Starsky smiled, slipped his hand in Hutch’s coat pocket, and whispered in a beautiful Nordic ear, “Probably more than a few times in between too.”

  1. Oh yeah, that is so sweet! Hutch just needs some reassurance sometimes. He gets a little jealousy and that makes him grumpy! Starsky is a natural born flirt for sure! Thanks for this sweet gift!

  2. Ohhh, a jealous Hutch! How sweet! And Starsky reassuring him that he’s the only one! Awww!
Thank you for writing this cute little story.

  3. I really enjoyed this, Lisa C – even the title. Really felt for Hutch’s insecurity and grinned at Starsky being Starsky and his reassurances. Thanks for the heart-warming gift.

Illo Elves: Now THAT is a Starsky gingerbread house! Perfect choice.

  4. I love watching Starsky flirt, but I love his quiet, deep commitment to Hutch even more. This is a sweet little glimpse of them as a couple. Thank you, Lisa C.

  5. I enjoyed all the nuances in your story and the photo you shared. Dig the rainbow shirts on the Gingerbread men expressing their gay pride.

I always see the guys as bisexual. I don’t think either one of them would stop noticing pretty women even when they became exclusive.

  6. Aww, Starsky is a mushball when he knows Hutch needs to hear it. Love this. And thanks to the elves for such a magnificent gingerbread house.
