December 8th- Torino on the Roof by Dawnwind

Note: Fiddler on the Roof is a musical with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein, The duet, Do You Love Me, is sung by Tevye and his wife, Golde, to each other. You can see it here for reference.

With apologies to Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick

(Starsky)
Do you love me?

(Hutch)
Do I what?

(Starsky)
Do you love me?

(Hutch)
Do I love you? After Gunther tried to kill you, and you lived to tell the tale,
We’ve been reassigned.
You’re upset. Get drunk. Let this lie down.
Maybe it’s cold pizza.

As soon as they crawled into bed, Pam’s eager fingers found Dave’s cock. “What’s this, baby? Bad ol’ rehearsal take all the lead out of your pencil?”

Dave carefully removed her hand. “You’re probably not going to believe me but I’ve got to use the tired old female complaint.”

“What?” She punched him in the side, hard. “You’ve got cramps?”

December 6th- Lies and Other Crimes Part One by DPPatricks

Chapter One

Thompson County Deputy Dave Lombard took one last unhurried cruise through the small town before he packed it in and headed home to his wife. The sheriff had told him to knock off for the night but, for some reason, he’d felt compelled to take this final tour. Not that anything ever happened in Thompsonville, other than the occasional domestic dispute or petty theft from the hardware store. But he took his responsibilities seriously since, when he logged out, only the other deputy, Stan, would be available to take care of any problems that might arise.

One sheriff and two deputies were, in most instances, enough to police the small county and smaller community, but Dave had been more uneasy than usual and something had kept him in his patrol car, making the rounds. When he’d stopped at the gas station’s pay phone and called his wife, Pam, to say he’d be a little late, she had said she’d wait up.

As he crossed the town’s main intersection, headed for the sheriff’s office, and his own wheels, he smiled. It happened every time he looked at the decorations the town council had hung on the light poles: large, sparkly, white cutouts of snowflakes. In addition, each of the storefronts had garlands and tiny lights displayed inside and out, giving off a nice holiday spirit. They were all on timers and would go off at midnight so he knew it wasn’t quite that late yet. Due to his persistent memory loss, Dave couldn’t remember any specific Christmases but he knew, somehow, that it was his favorite holiday.

December 6th- A Little Hanukkah Fun by Lisa B

On the sixth day of Hanukkah, Starsky can’t decide which of Hutch’s presents to open next. He’s already received four new train cars, including a new engine. The weird little toy owl, he knows, is Hutch’s way of teasing him about his new obsession with the Harry Potter books. How to choose between the blue gift, the silver one, or the red. The gold box, he knows, is for Christmas. For someone who used to hate the holidays, Hutch sure has the spirit this year! Decisions…decisions…

December 5th- Calm Seas, Tall Ships A Poetic Duet by Mvernet

Calm Seas
Starsky POV

He paints calm seas in greens and blues
His spirit expressed in the varied hues.
He keeps his works in a dusty stack
With caution I pull one from the pack.

The water has depth from layered strokes
The sky’s hidden sun holds a glimpse of hope.
The beach is pristine, save for lone footprints.
The effect is subtle with natural tints.

I gaze upon the azure horizon
I imagine a tall ship to sail upon
I would conquer this sea and break the calm
Claim it and protect it from any harm.

Someday I will fill a gallery
With his works that mean so much to me
Framed and hung on well-lit walls
His brilliance displayed for one and all

Tall Ships
Hutch POV

He builds tall ships with wood and thread.
His hidden strength and words unsaid
Expressed in intricate riggings and sails
Lovingly crafted in all its details.

I watch his hands as he tightens a string
His firm, gentle touch makes my heart sing.
His eyes are intense and opened wide
I catch a brief glimpse of the man inside.

I imagine a pirate, sure and bold
Conquering seas on his search for gold.
Claiming the waves in his domain
Then calming the frantic seas again.

Someday I will paint his ship on my sea
Show him how much he means to me.
Together we’ll sail beyond the frame
And journey to lands we dare not name.
